THE SUNDIAL KIT
Making a Sundial is a fun activity, but it is also informative. Kids get the concept of the Earth turning on its axis, and what makes night and day. This activity will also help them achieve merit badges if they are in the Scouts. But the main objective is for kids to have fun with Grampa.
It is also easy. You can use the included map to find your city, or Google: Latitude, Your City, State, and press ENTER. It doesn’t have to be exact either. For example, I live in San Bernardino, California, where the Latitude is 34 Degrees. I timed my sundial all day, from 9 am to 6 pm, and LOST only 15 minutes. Then I discovered that I had used the wrong angle for my sundial. It still worked very well.
The instructions are very easy, and require no special skills. Each step has a picture for simple construction. The whole project takes less than an hour. You’ll be able to check the time (with your watch) all day.
And, if Grampa wants to order multiple kits, an order form will be provided. The cost is minimal, and saves a lot of Grampa’s valuable time.
